The River Market Continued.......
Two outdoor,
open-air pavilions serve as the permanent home of the 25-year-old
Farmer's Market. "Three years ago we had about 65 farmers,"
Jeffery said, "and now you’ll find more than 100." Open from
May through October, hours for the Farmer's Market are 7 a.m.-3
p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays.
For the convenience
of downtown employees, residents and visitors Central Arkansas
Transit runs a trolley to the River Market . The year-round
route runs from the River Market area north-south on Main, then
east-west on Capitol and north-south on Broadway. The cost is
25 cents one way and hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m Monday through
Friday. On Saturdays through Sept. 11, there is a slightly different
route (River Market to 4th & Main, then 9th & Rock and back
to the River Market) and the hours are 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
